Shah Rukh Khan starrer family entertainer 'Zero' has shown a decent growth on the national holiday for Christmas. Helmed by Aanand L. Rai, the film also stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif as the female lead. The movie sees Shah Rukh Khan essaying the role of a dwarf man for the first time, who romances a differently abled scientist played by Anushka Sharma and is love-struck by a popular heroine played by Katrina Kaif. The film which hit the screens on December 21 has seen a rise in the collection on Tuesday.According to the latest report by BoxofficeIndia.com, on Tuesday, the film has managed to collect Rs 11.75 crore on its fifth day at the box office. 'Zero' showed a growth of 25% on the national holiday for Christmas Day. However, other movies which are currently running has registered higher growth at the box office when compared to the SRK starrer. The film has now managed to collect a total of Rs 76 crore in five days.
The film had already crossed the mark of Rs 100 crore worldwide in just three days. The film is also the sixth highest opener of 2018.
The plot of the film revolves around Bauua Singh (Shah Rukh Khan), a vertically challenged man who squanders his father’s money and is besotted by superstar Babita Kumar (Katrina Kaif). He falls in love with a scientist, Aafia (Anushka Sharma) who is affected by cerebral palsy. Their love story travels from India to the US and all the way to the outer space.
Directed by Aanand L. Rai, 'Zero' stars Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles. The film also stars Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Sheeba Chaddha, Jaipreet Singh and Brijendra Kala in supporting roles. The film also sees a range of Bollywood stars making their cameo appearances during the whole film.
