Mumbai: Dr. Poonam Satpute, Mumbai’s famous gynecologist, was found dead at her home in Andheri West on Tuesday night by the police.
The body of the 47-year old doctor was recovered after the neighbours noticed a foul smell coming out from her flat.
After that, they informed the Amboli police, which found the decomposed body of the doctor.
The main door of the doctor was locked from inside. According to the police, nothing suspicious was found at the spot.
Neither there were any injury marks on the body of the doctor nor was anything reported stolen.
The body was sent for the post-mortem by the police to Cooper Hospital for post-mortem to ascertain the cause of death.
The doctor was living alone in this flat. Her 81-year-old father lives in a nearby building.
According to police, the doctor might have died 48-hours ago from the time her body was found.
She was suffering from diabetes and the police suspected heart-attack as one of the possible reasons of her death.
The doctor was attached with several private hospitals, including BSES in Andheri and Cloud Nine hospital on consultancy basis.
She had a work experience of over 24 years and had undergone a MD and diploma in gynaecology and obstetrics.
