Here's what went into making Kapil Sharma and Ginni Chatrath's wedding ensembles!
This was the Shaadi season for the film industry and the Television industry as well. With many couples getting married, some secretly while some openly, 2018 proved to be the official wedding year for the film industry.
Television's favourite host Kapil Sharma married his girlfriend Ginni Chatrath in a traditional Sindhi ceremony. Well, they looked almost like a royal couple and all thanks to their outfits.
So, let's decode what went into making Kapil Sharma and Ginni Chatrath's wedding ensembles.
•The Main Wedding: For the main wedding ceremony that is the Anand Karaj, Ginni strictly wanted a red lehenga. She chose designers Rimple and Harpreet Narula for the same who then went on to design her dream wedding lehenga. They shared details about the same on their social media pages which read "The textile depicted a stunning riverside view of the Mathura Ghats which was meticulously translated on to each panel of the lehenga. The handcrafted skirt was rendered on tulle using Kashmiri-tilla, resham, sippi and sucha gota. It was paired with a blouse featuring a tessellated dabbi jaal derived from a Mughal jharokha and sheer tulle dupattas.
Kapil's sherwani was done in a lush old green taken from the shades foliage present in Ginni's lehenga-scape. The silk jacket was first hand-pleated and then overlayed with a dabbi jaal using antique sippi and finished with a handcrafted marodi embroidery border. It was paired with a hand-printed chanderi kurta-churidar and a pair of lavish juttis."
•Amritsar Reception: For the Amritsar reception, Ginni wore a Pistachio green lehenga teamed up with a classic kurti. A jaal of gokru gotta and kachi-patti embroidery that looks like a canopy over delicate floral blossoms and peacock motifs derived from a Mughal Garden of Paradise miniature painting just made the lehenga look more regal. Kapil wore a burgundy coloured velvet bandhgala with asymmetrical bursts of floral motifs; it was paired with a pair of slim fit pants and hand embroidered shoes.
• Mumbai Reception: The Mumbai reception was a lavish affair and so the outfit has to be extravagant and elegant. The lehenga which Ginni wore for the Mumbai reception cosisted of "melange of motifs - birds of paradise, blooming lotus blossoms, brimming Vases of Plenty - rendered on tulle using delicate resham aari embroidery, chaawal-tanka stitches, nalki and nakshi, imported sequins, crystals, and multi-hued pearls."
Kapil wore a classic black silk bandhgala jacket teamed with a pair of slim cut pants.
